The Oregon 2019 legislative session had two amendments, HB 2191 and HB 2556, to clarify some of the reasons students may be excused from school. To implement those bills, the Oregon Department of Education (ODE) is conducting listening sessions on student attendance throughout the state Oregon January - March 2020. From these sessions and through the linked feedback form, the ODE will write rules for the department, school districts, and schools to fully implement HB 2191 and HB 2556.
