A couple of years ago, Sodexo started a tradition of preparing a holiday meal for the students of Destinations Academy. On December 18th, the Milner Crest Gym was full of food, decorations, holiday music, and most importantly, the students. The meal included turkey, mashed potatoes, gravy, sides and a roll. The Coos Bay Police Officers and District Staff volunteered to serve the kids and enjoy a meal with them. It was an opportunity to build rapport and meet the students where they are.
A big thanks goes out to Destination's teacher, Mr. Laney for arranging the event, the Sodexo team for the delicious food, the Coos Bay Policy Officers who volunteered their time, Mr. Inskeep for bringing the music, and all of the Destinations staff who helped continue this tradition.
